BuddhaTeas Pau d'Arco Tea

The Pau d’Arco tree, also known as the trumpet or Poui tree, is native to Mexico, the Caribbean, as well as Southern Florida. It is a flowering tree, though it is more commonly used for the healing properties of its bark. Due to this, it was often referred to in many cultures as the ‘Divine Tree’. After being shredded or crushed, the bark of the tree can be used to make a tea that is somewhat bitter and sour in taste. Drinking this tea can allow the body to harvest a multitude of important health benefits. Although it is a tea that is typically found in South America, Pau d’Arco has been around for centuries, prepared by many indigenous tribes. In more recent years, Pau d’Arco tea has spread and grown in popularity throughout the rest of the world, as more and more people have learned about the potential benefits it has to offer.
